I started out by freelancing on the side to gain more experience and sharpen my skills while I worked my day job; marketing coordinator for my family’s local franchise. One day, I was going to take over the family business and continue to build the legacy that my parents had started. But, when they broke the news that they had decided to sell the business, my entire life began to spiral and all of those plans that I made went up in smoke.
But even in the moments when you’re most unsure, there is always a silver lining. My parents decision to sell sparked a fire in me – and I just knew deep in my bones that I would have my own business one day too.
